About the Oklahoma Lottery

In 2003, voters in Oklahoma approved two questions placed on the 2004 general election ballot, creating the OK Lottery Commission and a lottery trust fund. In 2005, the Oklahoma Lottery began ticket sales, and during the 2006 fiscal year, generated over $191 million in total lottery revenue.

New legislation in 2017 changed the way contributions from the OK Lottery are dispersed to support public education. Now, the first $50 million in profit is allocated to the following areas of education: K-12, Higher Education, Career Tech, School Consolidation & Assistance Fund, and the Teachers Retirement System. All further profit above $50 million is designated to support K-12 programs in reading and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). In the first fiscal year after this switch, the lottery returned a total of $63.2 million to Oklahoma Education, with $13.2 million earmarked for new reading and STEM program initiatives.

Currently, the OK Lottery offers the following draw games to play: Pick 3, Cash 5, Poker Pick, Lotto America, Powerball, and Mega Millions.
