About the Maryland Lottery

In 1972, the citizens of Maryland voted to approve a constitutional amendment allowing a state-run Maryland Lottery. Since the first lottery sales on January 2, 1973, the MD Lottery has contributed more than $14.4 billion in revenue to the state and has paid out more than $22.2 billion in prize money to lottery players.

Profits from the MD Lottery primarily support the Maryland General Fund, a source of funding for many state programs and services that include public education, public health and safety, and Maine environmental preservation. Portions of the MD Lottery also support the Maryland Stadium Authority, Baltimore City Schools, and veteran organizations.

The MD Lottery currently offers the following draw games to play: Pick 3 Midday, Pick 3 Evening, Pick 4 Midday, Pick 4 Evening, Multimatch, Cash4Life, Bonus Match 5, 5 Card Cash, Mega Millions, and Powerball.
