About the Arizona Lottery

Arizona became the first state west of the Mississippi to approve a lottery when the statewide public initiative passed in November 1980, followed by its official launch in 1981.

Arizona Lottery ticket sales go to programs and organizations in four key areas: health and human services, higher education, environmental conservation, and economic and business development.
