About the Vermont Lottery

The Vermont Lottery launched their first game, the Green Mountain Game, in 1978 following the enactment of Public Act No. 82 by the General Assembly. Initially, VT Lottery profits went toward the State General Fund. However, in July 1998, the VT legislature mandated that all revenue instead go to the Vermont Education Fund. As of the 2019 fiscal year, more than $29 million had been generated for the State’s Education Fund by the VT Lottery.
