COMING THIS WEEKEND: MEGA MILLIONS WITH MEGAPLIER
January 29, 2010
INDIANAPOLIS - Mega Millions® with Megaplier® is coming to Indiana this weekend! Starting Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 the Hoosier Lottery will offer more jackpots on more days. For the first time ever, the big-jackpot, multi-state draw game will be available at approximately 4,000 Hoosier Lottery retailers across the state. The first drawing is Tuesday, February 2, 2010. With Mega Millions joining the big-jackpot lineup, Hoosier Lottery players will have more chances at more jackpots on more days. In addition to Powerball and Hoosier Lotto on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Hoosiers can now play Mega Millions on Tuesdays and Fridays. Drawings are at 11 p.m. EST. Tickets may be purchased until 10:44 p.m. on draw days. Like Powerball, Mega Millions is a draw game in which players try to match six numbers from two fields. In Mega Millions players try to match five numbers from a field of 1-56 and one number, the Megaball®, from a field of 1-46. The mega-jackpot game offers secondary prizes from $2 to $250,000. "I'm excited about the opportunity Mega Millions brings Hoosier Lottery players," said Hoosier Lottery Executive Director Kathryn A. Densborn. "More jackpots on more days means more possibilities for our players." Until now, Hoosiers had to travel out of state to purchase Mega Millions tickets. The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $12 million. Tickets are just $1. Adding the Megaplier option for an extra dollar per play allows players the chance to multiply their winnings up to four times. The current Mega Millions jackpot is $144 million for tonight's draw.
