POST FALLS MAN WINS $50,000 ON LOTTERY’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY SECOND-CHANCE PRIZE

Boise – Maxwell Munson, Post Falls, thought about throwing away his second-chance entry scratch ticket into the Idaho Lottery’s 20th Anniversary Scratch Game drawing every time he cleaned his room over the past six months. But he never did. He held on to it. On Monday, January 25, 2010, the Idaho Lottery drew that entry and contacted him via phone message and E-mail to let him know he was the winner of $50,000.
“I thought the E-mail from the Lottery was a joke,” said Munson. “Then I listened to my phone messages and checked the Lottery’s website. I couldn’t believe it. I really did win!”
Not a frequent Lottery player, Munson only entered the Idaho Lottery’s 20th Anniversary Scratch Game second-chance draw twice. After a year long campaign by the Idaho Lottery to commemorate its 20th Anniversary, Munson’s ticket was chosen out of a total of 45,981 entries.
“I remember when I bought the ticket and it didn’t win, the lady at the store told me I could enter it and win $50,000 on the Lottery’s website,” said Munson while he visited Idaho Lottery headquarters in Boise on Friday.
With the un-expected windfall, Munson is planning to return to school at North Idaho College and put the rest aside.
“This is a total blessing,” added Munson. “I am totally stoked and couldn’t be happier.”
