COLUMBUS AREA FAMILY GETS $50,000 BOOST!
August 28, 2009
INDIANAPOLIS – A father of three is closer to his dream of home ownership after winning $50,000 in the Hoosier Lottery's Lucky 5 game. Cory Stanley of Elizabethtown matched all five numbers in the Saturday, August 22 evening drawing.
Stanley brought his wife, Kacy and their three children, 6-year-old Jacob, 4-year-old Katie and 2-year-old Tyler with him to Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis to claim his winnings this morning.
The Muncie-native turned Elizabethtown-resident is an electrical supervisor for Morgan Foods and his wife is a stay-at-home mom and college student. The young couple says the unexpected windfall will bring them one step closer to realizing their dream of owning a home.
"This will be a nice down payment on a home," said Stanley with a grin.
Stanley purchased his winning ticket at Circle K #53 at 3461 South U.S. Hwy 31 in Columbus.
Stanley is new to the Lucky 5 game. He says he never played the Lucky 5 game until recently.
"I play Lotto and Powerball occasionally, but decided to try Lucky 5 about a month ago," said Stanley. "I got on the computer and used a random number generator to pick five numbers. Those are the numbers I've been playing."
Stanley's lucky winning numbers are: 2-11-15-27-35.
The odds of matching all five numbers to win the top prize of $50,000 are 1:376,992. In Lucky 5 players choose five numbers (or allow the terminal to quick pick five numbers for them) from 1 to 36. The draw game offers players two sets of numbers for $1 and is drawn twice a day every day except Sunday, which only has an evening drawing.
The Hoosier Lottery reminds all players to please play responsibly.
