(Madison) —A ticket sold in Caledonia in Racine County for the Wisconsin Lottery’s Wednesday, August 26 Powerball drawing is worth $1 million, thanks to the game’s Power Play prize multiplier feature.
The ticket, sold at Mobil on the Park, 911 S. 27th St. in Caledonia, matched all five regular winning numbers in Wednesday’s drawing to earn the ticket holder a $200,000 prize. But, because the player also purchased the Power Play prize multiplier feature, the $200,000 prize was automatically multiplied by five.
Power Play turned the $200,000 ticket into a $1 million winner.
The ticket-holder has 180 days from Wednesday’s drawing to claim the prize. The $1 million ticket must be validated at the Lottery’s headquarters in Madison.
Wednesday’s winning Powerball numbers were 01, 21, 23, 30 and 43, with a Powerball of 11.
Power Play is a feature of Powerball that gives all non-jackpot winners a chance to multiply their prizes for an additional $1 for each set of numbers they purchase. Before each Powerball drawing a Power Play number from 2-5 is drawn. With a Power Play purchase $200,000 prizes are automatically multiplied by five. Prizes of $3 to $10,000 are multiplied by the Power Play number that is chosen in the drawing.
No one in any state matched all six winning numbers in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing. The Powerball jackpot grows to $33 million (est. annuity), $17 million cash, for this Saturday, August 29.
